How to Choose Your First Digital Product Idea (Without Overthinking)
A practical 3-step framework to pick a product idea that sells, based on your existing skills and audience needs.
The hardest part of starting a digital product business isn’t the tech — it’s deciding what to sell. I’ve seen founders freeze for months, bouncing between ideas and never launching.
Here’s the framework I use with all my coaching clients: First, list the top 5 questions you get asked repeatedly about your work. Second, pick the one that you could answer in a step-by-step system. Third, validate by asking 3 people in your network if they’d pay for that system.
That’s it. No market research reports, no competitor analysis paralysis. Your first product should be simple enough to create in 2 weeks and specific enough to solve one clear problem. You can always iterate later.
